Chef/Owner, Stephen Blandino
"Chef Stephen Blandino is a Staten Island native with a passion for cooking. His food lineage dates back to his two Italian grandmothers where he would spend his time learning how to cook with them. Chef Stephen Blandino graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. After graduating, he spent a year working under Charlie Palmer at Aureole in New York. Blandino moved to Las Vegas to work on Aureole Las Vegas and worked his way from line cook to Executive Sous Chef. In 2003, Blandino accepted an offer from Palmer to be the Executive Chef at Charlie Palmer Steak at the Four Seasons Las Vegas. Today, Blandino is the owner of American Las Vegas, a fine dining restaurant located on the lake in Desert Shores, near Summerlin."
The location of Americana is fabulous! The view is delightful.
My Strawberry Gazpacho was different and tasty. I was disappointed in my Lamb - it was chewy and shouldn't have been for that money. But, the sauce was good. The dessert was a long time in coming. The carrot cake was good, not great - too much icing, not enough cake - but it was an attractive presentation. And my coffee was not hot (not cold, but "warm plus" - certainly not hot) but Irish Coffee served in a coffee cup? I don't think so!
The service started out good but as they got busier, the service dropped off. The attention to pouring the wine was not very frequent - $25 for corkage and pouring? I think not.
Too bad, it really was (is) a pretty place. I don't know what you guys paid, but it was probably overpriced for the quality of the food. The presentation was beautiful though. And the wait staff was more attentive earlier in the evening.
I'd like to re-visit Marche Bacchus again though (Just a stone's throw away from the Americana). I go occasionally with some buddies for LUNCH. I always get the Lobster croissant because it is my favorite. But a dinner there might be worth a try again after all these years.
Tonight I'm having leftovers, not the Americana ones but from a different source!
Love, Pat A
